Update on California Low NOx Program Demonstration Results

Christopher  Sharp, Southwest Research Institute

This presentation provides an update on the Low NOx Demonstration program which is being conducted at Southwest Research Institute on behalf of the California Air Resources Board (CARB).  The primary objective of the program has been to demonstrate tailpipe emission levels at or below 0.02 g/hp-hr on a heavy-duty engine.  An overview of the program and results will be given, as well as discussion of the aging and performance of the aged catalysts.  In addition, an update will be provided on additional aging and test efforts that are being conducted as a follow on to the program in order to answer durability questions raised in the initial effort.
