Modeling the Impact of System Design Choices on DPF Performance

An oxidation catalyst and particulate filter system has been modeled using CFD and component models. Component performance was calibrated to data from engine testing and from Cummins catalyst laboratory. The impact of system level design choices on soot oxidation and filter lifetime has been evaluated. A comparison of model results to results from test cell aftertreatment system evaluation will be presented.
