A real-time Fe based SCR model has been developed based on reactor lab data. NH3 storage capacity and adsorption/desorption kinetics have been fully incorporated into the model. The resulting model is capable of predicting NOx reduction under various conditions including GHSV, T, NO2/NOx, ANR impacts. Validation against engine test cell data (both steady state and transient drive cycle) shows very good agreement between model prediction and experimental data. Finally the model was used to optimize ANR ratio before SCR catalyst over FTP drive cycle; results show great potential for improving the Urea dosing strategy for Fe based SCR catalyst.
