Impact of ceria content and sulfur on TWC reactivity and NH3 generation relevant to Passive SCR

Todd  Toops, Oak Ridge National Laboratory

To understand the impact of ceria content and sulfur exposure on reactions that are important to passive SCR a systematic approach was implemented.  In part one of this study, ceria ratios were varied from 0-10%, and the ability of the catalysts to produce hydrogen through water gas shift and ammonia under passive SCR conditions were evaluated.  In part two of the study, the impact of sulfur under continuous exposure and after high temperature operation were evaluated also looking at impact on hydrogen and ammonia production.
