CFD Modeling of Diesel Particulate Filter

The CFD modeling for DPF using FLUENT is overviewed. Both single channel and macroscopic models are used to simulate the structure of the filter. Soot loading and regeneration processes are studied with the two approaches. The emphasis will be on the macroscopic model, and its coupling with heat transfer models to analyze the temperature distribution in the substrate during regeneration.
