Investigation of LT-NA on a diesel vehicle simulater

Xinyi  Wei, BASF

Pd-zeolite based materials have shown promise as low temperature NOx adsorbers (LT-NA), which could potentially serve as a key component to meet ultra-low NOx regulations in the future. In the past two years, the mechanism of NO adsorption & desorption on Pd-zeolite, as well as the impact of other gaseous species on NO adsorption have been widely studied in the open literature, but results are largely based on steady state conditions. The presentation will discuss the LT-NA function of a Pd-zeolite material under dynamic conditions that simulate the FTP cycle of a diesel engine. The individual effect of CO and HC, as well as the effect of a diesel oxidation component will be addressed.
